Why am I
a Legal Nurse?

“In 2016,  a friend reached out and asked me to help her screen and assess defective medical device cases. When I agreed to help, I had no idea that a new door was about to open. I discovered a new career path that was fulfilling, exciting, and flexible. It allowed me the opportunity to be able to utilize my healthcare knowledge, understanding of medical treatments, disease processes, and clinical experience to assist attorneys with their cases.”

Overview And Experience

Driven by success

Courtney Randall is TTS’s Senior Legal Nurse Consultant. Courtney is responsible for the day-to-day operation and strategic growth of the legal nurse consultant department. Courtney reviews, evaluates, and analyzes medical records so she can bridge the gap for attorneys, who don’t have medical backgrounds, but need facts to support claims of personal injury, medical malpractice, and/or wrongful death.

Courtney’s worked as a Legal Nurse Consultant for the past six years. She’s drawn to the work because she says she likes reading and research. “It’s kind of like a puzzle that we are trying to figure out, and I’m able to find a piece of the puzzle that opens the whole case,” she says.

Courtney earned her master’s degree in nursing in 2017, but before that she worked as an RN at Tampa General Hospital for approximately eight years.

What I love about being an LNC

“I love being a Legal Nurse Consultant because I enjoy the thrill of finding the key fact that completely changes the case.  I love that every case is a new story to uncover.  I enjoy following the persons story and being able to piece together what happened, identify what parts don’t make sense, and put the missing pieces of the puzzle together.”
